A recorded reading of “The Next Room”. If the player does not load, use the original audio source.
The laundrette turns white shirts blue. You set a blood orange on the dryer. It rocks as the drum turns. “Where did it come from?” “The next room.” There is no next room. The glass gives back our hands, not our faces. When the cycle stops, you place the orange in my palm. The shirts cool before we leave.
