Lend me the feelings of your love, a moment’s embrace I am unworthy of. I crave the effect, the fire of lust, but cannot grasp your cause, your trust. To love me, to lose me, it’s all the same— a dance of desire, a slow-burning flame. The touch you hold, boundless and free, brings warmth yet also entraps me. A desire to leave, long done and found, yet here we are, spinning round and round. So kiss me once more, a kiss to pretend that love remains, though we both know the end. For what is this longing but a final farewell, a fleeting touch where silent tears swell? The heart loses hope, grief turns to fiend, clinging to shadows of what might have been. A kiss, a touch—then it’s time to part, leaving behind the echoes of a fractured heart. We loved, we lost, we played our part, the cause forgotten, the effect too sharp. Now fare thee well, my fleeting friend, for all that begins must someday end.
