Take me away—please, bring them in. I’m in need of surgery, a cleansing of sin. These thoughts torment me, gnawing my mind, melting my reasoning, leaving me blind. A killing, you say? Did it land so far away? What fun, I say, in this grotesque play. Please don’t run—I only want to dance to the beat of madness, give me one last chance. But wait, stay with me—don’t turn to flee, the axe is still blunt, and there’s so much to see. It won’t rain forever, though my arms grow sore, from swinging at shadows, wanting more. Believe in me, for I come for you— a whisper in the dark, you know it’s true. You know I exist; hear the sound of my footsteps echoing all around. I creep through the corridors of your mind, the fear I inspire, so deliciously blind. But please—remove me, take me away, let them in to take this pain. See the fear in their eyes, the repulsion they feel for what I’ve become, for wounds that won’t heal. What have I become, in this twisted game? Have I turned into what I’ve always blamed? Have I become that which I’ve always feared— a nightmare, a shadow that’s grown too near? The torment brews, the guilt drips slow, like blood from a wound that refuses to close. Is this the answer to the question of sin, a spiral that pulls me deeper within? I reach for salvation, but it’s out of sight, lost in the darkness, lost in the fight. Please, someone, take this burden away— the question of sin that leads me astray. For in the mirror, I no longer see the person I was, just the monster in me. A reflection distorted, a soul torn apart— is there still a way to heal this heart? Let them in, let them come, let them cleanse the stain, take away the madness, the agony, the pain. But as they approach, I wonder once more— can I ever return to the self I was before?
