A dark poem of girl, loves, and momma, holding fear, fracture and survival in view.
March 30, 2004Early Notebooks
A girl who loves her momma, holds faith, and this land,
navigates tough days, life never going as planned.
Long days with bad boys, lurking in the shadows she knew,
free to fall, crying for help to break through.
Good at hiding, burying pain deep inside,
puts on a brave face, with nowhere to confide.
Pauses linger, dimming her inner light,
clinging to hope through the cold, lonely night.
What she needs, she rarely gets,
a whole lot of love, but life's full of regrets.
She’s got a heart of gold, a fire that won’t dim,
yet life keeps hitting her, leaving her hopes slim.
She prays to the sky, whispering to stars,
wondering if freedom is just too far.
But here she stands, bearing her scars,
fighting for tomorrow under life’s bars.
A heart full of love despite all she's been through,
the world’s been cruel, yet her spirit stays true.
So she holds on tight through the darkest night,
waiting for dawn, ever ready to fight.
