A dark poem of passion, why, and hide, holding fear, fracture and survival in view.
March 2, 2004Early Notebooks
I took a passion at your gaze, but why do I hide it?
Lost in your eyes, yet powerless beside it.
Falling short of you, unable to break through—
when stripped of strength, what am I to do?
Say what you want, say it’s all for you,
but your absence lingers, an unspoken truth.
Why are you gone, when I reached for your touch?
Left in the silence, craving too much.
Your presence was fire, a spark in the night,
now all that remains is a flickering light.
Words left unsaid, hanging in the air,
a love that slipped through—why weren’t you there?
