The feeling I felt, I no longer feel— time has passed, and things do change. I still love you, but I have grown in ways I never thought I would. For better or worse, this is the way it flows— I'm taking a different path, yet trying to stay close, clinging to the thread that binds us tight while drifting toward a different light. My matchbox has lost your decoration, the colours faded, worn with time. I need to find new patterns to follow, to sketch the outlines of a life that’s mine. I do not wish to lose you, I still need time— time to experience, to truly see, time to discover the parts of me that have been hidden beneath the layers of who we used to be. I have heard it said, “If you love someone, set them free.” Please, let this freedom be a circle, not a severed line. Let it be a journey that returns to you, not just a path that fades into the blue. For now, I need something new to compare, a different lens through which to stare at the world and all its possibilities, to rediscover who I am beyond what we’ve shared. I am not asking to leave, only to grow, to explore the places I’ve yet to know. But my heart still beats with the hope that when this journey is through, the path will lead me back to you. So set me free, but hold the space— a quiet corner where I can trace the steps that lead me home again to the love that never truly ends. If I return, let it be because I choose not from obligation, not from fear, but because, after wandering, I find that home is here— with you, the one who waited near.
