A reflective poem of ignoring, simply, and trying, exploring change, memory and inner weather.
January 16, 2004Early Notebooks
I’m not ignoring you—no, that’s not it.
I’m simply meditating, trying to fit
the pieces together, the silence, the air,
pondering your absence, the space where you’re not there.
I close my eyes, let my thoughts drift free,
meditating on a world where you ceased to be.
It’s not neglect, just a quiet reprieve—
a moment to reflect on how much I grieve.
I’m mediating, see? On the thought of you gone,
trying to find peace in a world all wrong.
I’m not ignoring your voice or your call,
just meditating on the echoes that fall.
So please don’t think it’s indifference or disdain—
I’m simply lost in the void, processing the pain.
Meditating on your absence, a bittersweet task,
wondering how long this silence will last.
If I don’t respond, it’s not that I don’t care—
I’m just lost in the thought of you not being there.
