A recorded reading of “Vacancy in the Mind”. If the player does not load, use the original audio source.
I’m renting a space between your ears, a cozy nook where doubt appears— a vacant lot where thoughts unwind, a prime estate in the cluttered mind. A sign up for sale it will read, just a little lease on your sanity. Give me some time, I’ll whack it good, sweep out the cobwebs, splinter the wood. No memory left of it being cleaned, just a hollow echo where dreams careened. I’ll scrub it spotless, leave it bare— you’ll wake up wondering who’s been there. But hush now, dear, just close your eyes— I’ll clear the clutter, sever the ties, until all that’s left is an empty hall, a quiet expanse where your thoughts might fall.
