First, the wrists— two pale cuffs meeting beneath two flower heads burning. Petal and flame cannot be told apart: orange on orange, each edge giving way to heat. Nothing below them but black widening around this small touch. Above, the moon holds its pitted gold at the edge of things. A bright fragment loosens, rises through the dark, and trembles between fire and moon.
