A satirical poem of afraid, senses, and urge, pressing wit, absurdity and refusal against the world.
February 3, 2004Early Notebooks
Afraid of senses that urge me to flee,
a whisper, a pulse, deep inside of me.
Flowing through transmitters, shouting their pain,
a chorus of warnings I can't contain.
Electric currents course through my veins,
a surge of emotions that only restrain.
Signals collide, they scream and they wail,
a relentless pressure I can't derail.
Should I listen? Should I go?
The fear wells up, the doubt starts to grow.
Trapped between the urge to escape
and the binds of a mind that won't reshape.
Voices within, they clash and they fight,
flooding my senses, blocking the light.
Afraid of the signals that push and pull,
caught in the tides of a storm that's cruel.
