A recorded reading of “Life in a Glass Prison”. If the player does not load, use the original audio source.
A little worm, curled tight, sealed within a glass prison— a closed bottle, a sprinkle of sand, a bit of water, and pinprick holes to pretend at freedom. The air grows thin, the light dims; it’s enough to survive, but not enough to live. I watch with blazing eyes— your struggle mirrors mine in this hollow, half-filled world. No life, though we breathe, just the slow drowning of spirit in a sea of glass. Each droplet falls like a silent tear, more water to flood a heart already heavy. Blazing eyes, yet my life is gone— trapped within this bottle, a writhing form that knows there are no doors, only the cruel comfort of sand and sky blurred through glass. So here we stay, you and I— tiny souls scraping against the lid of a world too small to contain all our wanting.
