Let me live in your illusion—or is it mine? The anguish of parents, a reflection entwined. The love I have feels far too big— the vessels the gods made can't contain this brig. How the mighty have fallen so far from the crown, the gift once offered by a child who bowed down. The lessons you taught me, my guide through the years, now reveal a truth shrouded in fears. The hate you’ve sown is mirrored in others, and torment is shared among all of your brothers. The love I harbor, now twisted and coiled, digs earthquakes beneath me, my spirit despoiled. Overflowing anger pours out as tears, to know that we’re all drowning in fears. The hurt you inflicted on those you adored returns to you doubled, a sharp, vengeful sword. Loving you was easy when I was young, the guidance you gave made me your son. But time brings wisdom, and with it disgust— realising the cost of a love built on trust. Your lessons once shaped me, but now I see the father I loved is not who he seemed to be. The love I carry, still too big— the vessels the gods made aren’t enough for this brig. These turbulent times, my eyes filled with tears, wondering what fate will greet me at the piers. For as I stand here, a son grown old, the illusions are shattered, the lies unfold. In the depths of my heart, a question remains— is this love or simply the residue of pain? Let me live in your illusion—just one final time, before I sail away from the shore of your crime.
