High tide, I am with you— the waves embrace, the world fades from view. In your presence, I find my shore, a place where I need nothing more. Low tide, I dream of you— the ocean retreats, and I’m left to pursue the echoes of laughter, the whisper of skin, the tide that ebbs, but won’t let me in. To understand you, I cannot— for you are a sea, a mystery I’ve sought. I dive into depths, but the waters conceal a heart that I can only partly feel. For I am not you, and you are not me, we're two currents adrift in a boundless sea. We meet, we part, like the moon and the tide, touching briefly, then swept aside. High tide, I hold you close, but even then, it’s like chasing ghosts. For beneath the surface, there’s so much more— a world I cannot fully explore. Low tide, I’m left alone to ponder the secrets I’ve never known. I search the sands where your footprints fade, wondering what lies beyond the barricade. I dream of knowing, of seeing through the depths of your soul, the waters so blue. But to understand you, I must let go of the need to possess what I cannot know. So I ride the tides, with patience and grace, accepting the rhythm, the ebb and the chase. For in loving you, I’ve come to see that you are you, and I am me. High tide, I am with you, low tide, I dream anew. A dance of waves that kiss and part, forever bound, but oceans apart.
