You return, a ghost of past selves, a fragment of skin and silence, woven from the bone of lost hours, from echoes I thought had withered in the hush of time. Between us, a flower erupts— no tender bloom, but a furnace of petals, a star burning at the ribs, its tendrils threading through bone and sinew, binding what was whole, splitting the sinew of what once was one. Your face, downturned, bears the weight of departure, while mine, split with laughter, knows only the ecstasy of release. Is this rebirth, or is it ruin— this slow unfurling, this cleaving in two? Do we grow apart, or are we merely becoming something else— something neither of us can name? The petals pulse, the roots drink deep. And still, we remain— a single bloom, two breaking bodies.
Lyrics
(You return, a ghost… a ghost…) A fragment of skin and silence, Woven from the bone of lost hours. Echoes I thought had withered, In the hush of time. Between us, a flower erupts— No tender bloom, but a furnace of petals. A star burning at the ribs, Threading through bone and sinew. (Are we breaking? Are we breathing? Are we something in between?) Binding what was whole, Splitting what once was one. (Are we ending, or becoming? Something neither of us can name…) Your face, downturned, bears the weight of departure, While mine, split with laughter, lets go. Is this rebirth, or is it ruin— This slow unfurling, this cleaving in two? The petals pulse, the roots drink deep. The fire hums, the wind still speaks. (Do we grow apart, or are we merely…?) (Are we breaking? Are we breathing? Are we something in between?) Binding what was whole, Splitting what once was one. (Are we ending, or becoming? Something neither of us can name…) And still, we remain— A single bloom, Two breaking bodies.
