A dark poem of reaching, far, and wide, holding fear, fracture and survival in view.
March 18, 2004Early Notebooks
Tassels of my heart, reaching far and wide,
tentacles of love seeking where you hide.
Tourist in my thoughts, wandering through,
finding traces of someone that feels like you.
Falling out of luck, striking out once more,
a game of love where I’m keeping score.
Walls of passion rise, strong and steep,
blocking the dreams that I long to keep.
I search through the maze, a soul set adrift,
hoping to catch a moment, a shift.
But luck evades me, passion turns cold,
as I strike and stumble, the story unfolds.
Yet still, my heart’s tassels stretch to seek,
for the love that’s hidden, elusive and weak.
A traveler lost in a labyrinth of desire,
seeking a flame to rekindle the fire.
