A reflective poem of flipping, thoughts, and searching, exploring change, memory and inner weather.
March 22, 2004Early Notebooks
Flipping over one’s thoughts,
searching for that elusive card—
the right answer hidden,
a truth that always feels just a bit too far.
A mirror in the bathroom, can’t you see?
Reflections of lessons, circling me.
Words like layers in a sandwich fold,
stories untold, secrets of old.
Trying to piece it together,
trying to make sense of it all—
but the mind’s a maze,
a hall of mirrors where I stumble and fall.
What’s the lesson hidden behind the glass?
A future to find or a past to surpass?
Flipping through thoughts like pages worn,
waiting for clarity in the early morn.
