Thorns thread my body, spine to stem, piercing through ribs like forgotten prayers, as if pain itself were the cost of becoming. Flesh is fleeting, transient— but a flower is forever in its fading, a moment of beauty stretched between birth and decay. I have no mouth, yet I breathe through the petals of my unraveling. No eyes, yet I see in the trembling of my leaves. Kneeling here, fingers tangled in earth, I wonder—was I ever anything but this? A seed of something untamed, reaching for the light, even as the dark clings like memory.
