Beggars and sinners, dripping with fear, making your earnings from pecking at dirt year by year. Scraping the ground for scraps of hope, in the shadows where you barely cope. Clinging to illusions of better days, eluding the facts that burn through the haze. Changes for the worst loom like tides— pushing on forward with no place to hide. Straining for a lesser end, trusting in others you once called friends. But promises given turn to rust, when the weight grows heavy, you’re left in the dust. Beggars grasp at crumbs that fall, sinners pray, but who hears their call? For every step you take in this race, you’re haunted by shadows you can’t erase. What is the cost of this endless grind, when you’re leaning on others who turn unkind? The crutch you rely on snaps in two, and the path ahead feels narrow and skewed. Desperation gnaws like a dog at bone, while the streets you tread leave you alone. For how long can you trust the game when all you’re given is more of the same? The cost of survival is a debt unpaid, scraping at dirt where your spirit decays. You relied on others to carry your load, but they vanished like ghosts down a winding road. Beggars and sinners, lost in the fray, hoping for dawn but trapped in the gray. What was once faith has turned to despair, as you push on through with nothing to spare. Yet within the darkness, a flicker remains— a spark of resolve that breaks through the chains. For when all is stripped away, what’s left behind is a heart that refuses to stay confined. Pick yourself up, scrape the dust from your knees, the strength to endure is the strength to be free. No longer leaning on ghosts that depart, find the courage to rebuild from the start. The storm may rage, but you’ve weathered worse, in the depths of despair, you’ve broken the curse. For even beggars and sinners can find their way when they learn to trust themselves and not the fray. The dawn is approaching, the light draws near, and what was once lost becomes crystal clear. You are more than the scars, more than the pain— a soul reborn, unbroken, unstained.
