I swallowed the sun, but it spat me out, A firefly burning on my tongue. The air sighed like it knew the joke, But left me out of the punchline. A chair slumped beside me, Tapped its leg against the floor. "Are you real?" it asked. I shrugged— Even my shadow had picked up a second job. The moon unraveled like a frayed cassette, Its juice a tangle of lost highways. I tried to catch it in my hands— But hands are just misbehaved cages. Somewhere, a clock choked on its own tick. Somewhere, time tripped over itself and cursed. Somewhere, I walked through a door, And found myself waiting on the other side. I waved. The air waved back. One of us was leaving.
Instructional lyrics
[Intro: Sparse, atmospheric—reverb-drenched guitar, distant echoes of ticking clocks.] (I swallowed the sun, but it spat me out…) A firefly burning on my tongue. The air sighed like it knew the joke, But left me out of the punchline. [Verse 1: Melodic, surreal—soft vocals, a slow build.] A chair slumped beside me, Tapped its leg against the floor. "Are you real?" it asked. I shrugged— Even my shadow had picked up a second job. [Chorus: Expansive, haunting—swirling guitars, echoing harmonies.] (A puppet with no strings, just drifting—just drifting…) Catching echoes in my hands, But hands are just misbehaved cages. (Somewhere, time tripped, somewhere, time cursed…) I walked through a door— And found myself waiting on the other side. [Verse 2: Dreamlike and detached—warped synths, ticking percussion.] The moon unraveled like a frayed cassette, Its juice a tangle of lost highways. I tried to hold it, tried to keep it, But even gravity plays favorites. [Bridge: Tension builds—drums intensify, vocals more urgent.] Somewhere, a clock choked on its own tick. Somewhere, time tripped over itself and cursed. Somewhere, I waved— And the air waved back. [Chorus: Bigger, layered harmonies—crashing cymbals, soaring guitar lines.] (A puppet with no strings, just drifting—just drifting…) Catching echoes in my hands, But hands are just misbehaved cages. (Somewhere, time tripped, somewhere, time cursed…) I walked through a door— And found myself waiting on the other side. [Outro: Fading, eerie—soft piano, distant ticking, whispered vocals.] One of us was leaving. One of us was staying. (But I never knew which one…)
